Forever Kind Learning founder Andrea Castro has been nominated for the Global Women of Influence Awards 2026, recognizing her leadership in accessibility, inclusion, and communication access.

Andrea Castro is a mother, an advocate, and the kind of person who sees a gap in the world and quietly gets to work filling it. As the founder of Forever Kind, Andrea has turned a deeply personal mission — ensuring her daughter Ariyana could communicate, connect, and belong in public spaces.

Hosted by the BC Achievement Foundation, the inspiring evening celebrated the power of service, compassion, and community connection.

We are beyond excited to share that Forever Kind communication boards are officially being integrated into school planners.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee asked Council to approve the City to apply for a grant to install one of these PECS boards at Douglas Park or City Park. Council approved this request.

Developed by Accessibility Advisory Committee member Andrea Castro, these innovative boards will allow people with limited or no verbal communication abilities to express themselves using pictures.
