A Win for Inclusion: Andrea Castro of Forever Kind Receives BC Achievement Community Award

For Andrea Castro, founder of Forever Kind, it started with a simple, powerful desire: to create a world where her daughter—and every child—could truly belong.

That vision has now been recognized on a provincial stage.

Andrea Castro has been named a recipient of the BC Achievement Community Award, an honour that celebrates individuals who go above and beyond to strengthen their communities through leadership, service, and impact

Forever Kind is an initiative focused on creating inclusive Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools for public spaces. And if you’ve ever seen a Forever Kind communication board in a park, school, or community space—you already know why.

From Personal Need to Provincial Impact

The BC Achievement Foundation recognized 2026 award recipients as changemakers who “improve lives” and help build more inclusive, resilient communities.

Andrea’s work embodies exactly that.

Through collaborations with educators, therapists, municipalities, and community organizations, she has helped reshape how public spaces are designed—and who they are designed for.

What Comes Next

If the past few years are any indication, this is just the beginning. Forever Kind continues to expand its reach, bringing communication tools into more spaces, more communities, and more everyday moments where connection matters most.

Because inclusion isn’t a feature. It’s a responsibility. And thanks to leaders like Andrea Castro, it’s becoming a reality—one conversation, one playground, one child at a time.

Play. Learn. Grow. Together.
